Down with Flu

It all began with Lucas. He first caught the flu bug from the childcare centre..
Actually, Mommy Me already spotted the 'danger'. The other day when we were at the centre, there was a little boy who was down with flu following Lucas around in the morning.
I dragged Lucas away but that little boy kept coming near and Lucas told me he dunno who the boy was...=.='''
So he had the first onset of the flu bug on Saturday. As we had some medications at home, we did not bring him to the PD over the weekend..And we merrily forgot to separate him and Lewis...
There we had it. Lewis was down on Monday and Mommy Me brought him to Dr Chan on Tuesday morning while Lucas saw Dr Koh on Monday evening.

Lewis had to get his phlegm sucked out and it was so thick that the nurse had a bit of difficulty getting the tubes down his nostrils. Needless to say, he was crying buckets and buckets while it was being done. After the suction, he had to be neb... Luckily that was effortless.

But the nights were a nightmare.. As Lewis had some difficulty breathing, he wanted to be carried the whole night and the results were Panda Daddy, Panda Mommy and Panda Ah Ma...
Lucas, on the other hand, was easier to manage since he could blow his nose.
The process of bringing Lewis to the PD to get the suction down went on for a couple of days and this morning, PD said no need to do suction and only need to do the neb...

Combined damage from both boys: $250++ and needless to say, loss of precious sleep..

I hope the boys can recover by this weekend as Mommy Me will be returning to work next Monday.

Side-track:

Lucas proves to be such a sensible boy at his young age.

On Wednesday morning, he woke up asking Mommy Me to bring him out for breakfast. (Note: It had already become a routine that he wants me to bring him out for breakfast.) I told him ok and was running through the number of things I needed to get done. Told him that after sending him to skool, I need to rush to pick Lewis didi to Dr Chan to get the painful suction done, etc etc...

After hearing me, suddenly he said: Mommy, bring me to skool. No breakfast ok. I eat in skool..

Aww, it was so sweet to hear that from him. He understood that I am tired from all the running all over and wanted to eat breakfast at skool though I know he dun quite like the breakfast spread at skool. He went to skool, walked to the breakfast station, took a quick look and told Mommy Me to get him a piece of bread.

He then walked to his classroom, unpacked his stuff and sat on a chair waiting for me to bring the bread to him. It was such a heart melting moment for Mommy Me to have a sensible boy (aside his terrorising moments..)

Lucas, well done.. Keep it up, son.
